V's wall

Every now and then something pops into my head and I get inspired. Then, less often, I actually have the time to do it.  Well I always have time for my V....

Blank canvas

Mock up

My client

I love wood walls that produce a shadow line.  They are so much more interesting.

Reclaimed Cedar / Rattle can spray paint

Enjoying the view

It goes well with the mobile Laurie made her.

Cutting boards for Christmas

I finally followed through with my intention to make family cutting boards for Christmas. It's only been 5 years since I first meant to do it......

Custom Kitchen Table - Reclaimed douglas fir

Just a bunch of left over stuff

Nice day to make a table

Believe it or not I actually picked out my favorites out of that big pile

I'm starting to get excited

Now I'm stoked!

Into the shop for some initial layout.  I just don't throw the boards together, it takes time to pick the best spot for each one.

Time to glue and clamp

Clamp city is forming

All glued and clamped up, now time to cut this thing down to size

I love being in the shop

Filling the holes with clear epoxy keeps them black and is super cool

Close up!

After filling the cracks, nail holes, and sanding, it's time to router the edges. We did a 1/4" round over for this. I like it better then a full bullnose.

First coat

Second

5 coats.  All done by hand with a brush

Ta da.......

The base is metal powder coated black.

I dial in all the exact details with the clients prior to the construction

Little G checking it out.
